Title: Small changes

I go to the cemetery upon a regular basis to pay my respects to my family. And whilst I was there I noticed that the water taps had faucets that either dripped a lot when used or were very hard to control, often meaning that water would spray all over the place when you turned them on.

I had some spare hose parts, that I used at home and fitted them onto the taps the next time that I visited. These worked and I ordered some more for the next time I went to fit to several other faucets. Long story short, a few weeks after I had done this, someone had bought in and left a couple of watering cans by the taps, whilst someone had left a bottle at another faucet.

The point is not only did the part for the taps stop unnecessary leaks, but I hope that it helped to inspire someone else to feel that they could do something to help make a difference for other people visiting the cemetery.

Hi PeteT, thank you for taking the time to post. Your post is the epitome of the whole idea of ‘take1step’.

It’s the idea that the actions that we take, can have a knock on effect on the people, and world around us. It’s so easy for us to get used to the idea that we have no power to help bring about change, that we start to believe it. But when we see someone push back against that idea, it can help to inspire us to believe that we really are able to make a difference.
